A wonderful color lithograph of at least 5 stones depicting the Midnight Sun in a Norwegian fjord with a couple of sailboats and a flock of geese passing by. Great colors!

Hendrik van Steenwijk is an Amsterdam Born Dutch artist. He is a descendant of the famous 17th century Dutch painter H. van Steenwijck who is mainly known for his paintings of church interiors. Steenwijk dedicated his work to nature, creating beach scenes and landscapes in a more impressionist style. Hendrik undertook multiple long journeys that would add thematic depth to his work. His stay in Norway for instance stimulated his interest in Norse mythology. He moved to Haarlem in 1914, where he would live the rest of his life.
Two middle creases, hardly any abrasion of color, verso and recto stamped, small pencil archive number.
