This is a great art deco style poster overlooking the old city of Stockholm and the harbor with the Stockholm City skyline in the back. In the front you see Stockholm City Hall (Stockholm Stadhus) that was completed in 1923. It’s the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet and is one of Stockholm’s major tourist attractions. The city of Stockholm is spread across 14 islands on the coast in the southeast of Sweden at the mouth of Lake Mälaren, by the Stockholm archipelago and the Baltic sea.
The artist Iwar Donnér is a well-known Swedish painter and represented in the National Museums in both Stockholm and Oslo.
The poster has several dirt stains, water damage, tears and missing right lower corner. It’s been professionally mounted on linen with an acid free barrier for preservation. A great poster at lower price because of the condition.
