This is a wonderful original vintage Swedish travel poster promoting the Medieval city of Visby on the island Gotland as a travel destination.
Visby is sometimes called "The City of Roses" or "The City of Ruins". The earliest history of Visby is uncertain, but it is known to have been a center of merchandise around 900 AD. It was inhabited as early as the Stone Age, probably because of the access to fresh water and a natural harbor.
The designer Ivar Gull who we know very little of other than he has designed two posters from Visby and a Norwegian poster as well in the 1930's.
In excellent condition.
