This original vintage Italian travel poster (manifesto in Italian), created by Gino Francioli in the 1950s, showcases Sicily, the largest Mediterranean island, as an enticing travel destination. According to the Ministero della cultura and the Catalogo Generale dei Beni Culturali, this poster predates 1957.
Featuring a captivating silhouette of the sun, complemented by images of the blue sea, boats, fishing nets, and a village, all set against a rich red-orange backdrop, the manifesto exudes the essence of Sicily. The accompanying Italian text reads: "la terra il mare il cielo la luce vi dànno in Sicilia il desiderio di vivere" (the land, the sea, the sky, the light give you the desire to live in Sicily).
In very good condition and expertly mounted on linen, the manifesto exhibits light wear and fold marks. With its striking imagery and historical significance, this manifesto is worthy of a prominent place on any wall.
