This spectacular original vintage poster titled "ØK Stjernehimmel" was issued by The East Asiatic Company Ltd. (Østasiatisk Kompagni / EAC), a Danish shipping and trading company founded in Copenhagen in 1897. The EAC operated passenger and freight services connecting Denmark to Bangkok and the Far East, symbolizing the growing global commercial networks of the early-to-mid 20th century.

Designed by Carl Henning Dalsgaard, likely in the 1950s, the poster features a stunning night scene rendered in rich, mystical hues of deep blue and yellow. A modern passenger ship glides across calm waters, watched by silhouetted figures in a traditional Asian sampan holding a lantern — a moment of cross-cultural encounter.
