This lovely original vintage SAS airline poster from the late 1950s or early 1960s was designed by Fritjof Pedersén (1923-2018). The Swedish slogan "Flyget går över allt..." can be translated approximately as "Air travel goes everywhere..."
The charming illustration is inspired by the Scandinavian story of Nils Holgersson, showing a young boy riding through the sky on the back of a giant white goose. In a clever aviation twist, the goose has been transformed into an SAS aircraft, complete with passenger windows and the distinctive dragon-style decoration along the fuselage. This SAS aircraft livery was introduced in 1956 and used until 1966, helping to date the poster to this period. A subtle map of Scandinavia and northern Europe appears in the blue background.
Pedersén's playful combination of Scandinavian folklore, humor and modern aviation makes this a particularly charming and highly decorative example of mid-century SAS advertising.
Professionally mounted on linen and in excellent condition.
