Ocean Liner |
This a very beautiful ocean liner poster published by the Royal Mail in 1937 promoting their summer cruises.
In the 1937 brochure with the same graphic design the Royal Mail offers several cruises to Norway during the summer months, spanning from 7 up to 19 days. The longest voyage reaches out to Iceland, Spitzbergen, and the Ice Barrier before sailing along the Norwegian coast from North Cape to Bergen and return to London.
Text in the brochure: "With the coming of summer to Northern latitudes, the ideal cruising scene shifts to areas unsurpassed in beauty and tonic climate. To the peaceful majesty of Norway's Fjords, the splendid grandeur of the North Cape, even to the fringe of Polar Regions Spitzbergen and the Great lce Barrier under the benevolent rays of the Midnight Sun."
This is another beauty by Percy Padden. The poster depicts a woman dressed up in traditional Norwegian folk costume in front of a church in a Norwegian fjord. Beautiful colors. This poster would look fantastic on the wall. Just love it!
