A very unusual original vintage poster issued by East African Airways to promote flights to Egypt (UAR) depicting a scene from Giza with a tourist riding camel close to the Sphinx and Pyramids.
By March 1975, with 4700 employees, the East African Airways fleet consisted of sixteen aircraft that worked an extensive domestic network within the three member countries plus international services to Aden, Addis Ababa, Athens, Blantyre, Bombay, Bujumbura, Cairo, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Karachi, Kigali, Kinshasa, London, Maputo, Lusaka, Mauritius, Mogadishu, Rome, Seychelles, Tananarive, and Zurich. Who knew?
The operations ceased in 1977 after financial difficulties.
A rarity of a poster. Note the size. In very good condition. Light age wear, tiny tears at top.
