This original, authentic poster features a rendering by Ossian Elgström of a Swedish landscape, accompanied by the text: "Sverige - Är icke detta värt att försvara?" (Sweden - Is this not worth defending?). The design includes Valkyries alongside workers and officials, imagery that evokes different associations today compared to its original creation in 1928.
In response to the 1925 defense decree, the Riksförbundet för Sveriges försvar (National Association for Sweden's Defense) was established. This organization merged with the Allmänna Försvarsföreningen in 1968. Founded in 1890, the Allmänna Försvarsföreningen aimed to promote the strengthening and development of Sweden's defense, particularly during debates on general conscription. Today, the organization is part of the Central Confederation of Folk and Defense and collaborates with the Voluntary Organizations Cooperation Committee (FOS).
The poster shows several signs of age, including small tears, paper loss at the top, and creases. However, the colors remain vibrant and fresh.
