SM Skidor Filipstad 1953

This original vintage Swedish ski poster from 1953 advertises the Swedish National Ski Championships (SM på skidor), held in Filipstad from 15 to 22 February 1953. The poster features an attractive modernist design combining stylized winter scenery with bold typography and the Swedish national colors.

The illustration shows a snow-covered ski jumping hill with two Swedish flags flying above the towering structure. Dark green fir trees stand against the white slopes, while sweeping blue lines suggest ski tracks winding through the landscape. The pale blue background, geometric shapes and striking red lettering give the poster a distinctive Scandinavian 1950s character.

Filipstad is a historic town in Värmland County, central Sweden, surrounded by forests, lakes and countryside with a long tradition of winter sports. The poster celebrates the town's role as host of the 1953 Swedish Ski Championships, an important event in the country's sporting calendar.

A colorful and highly decorative example of 1950s Swedish ski and winter sports advertising, with a clean, elegant graphic design that would look wonderful framed in a ski lodge or mountain cabin.
