This is an original and authentic antique poster issued in 1917 by the Norwegian brewery Schou. Titled "Rabalder", this avant-garde composition by Per Krohg won first prize in a poster competition that year. The work bursts with energy and typographic play, echoing the spirit of Futurism and Dada with its expressive repetition of the words “Schou” and “Øl” (beer).
Per Krohg, one of Norway’s most celebrated artists, is internationally renowned for the monumental mural he created for the United Nations Security Council Chamber in New York. His prolific career spanned drawing, painting, illustration, set design, and monumental public art.
This poster is in good condition with some small scars. It has been professionally mounted on linen for preservation.
