This striking and colorful original vintage poster from 1957 features the historic paddle steamer Lausanne cruising on Lake Geneva (Genfersee), with the iconic Jet d'Eau fountain and the snowcapped Alps in the background. Designed by A.R. Dutoit and commissioned by the Compagnie Générale de Navigation sur le Lac Léman (CGN), the artwork captures the spirit of mid-century Swiss tourism.
The steamer Lausanne, launched in 1900, was one of the elegant vessels operated by CGN, connecting a series of scenic and culturally rich ports of call: Genève, Lausanne-Ouchy, Montreux, Château de Chillon, Évian-les-Bains, and Thonon-les-Bains. The bold, graphic composition and vibrant palette convey a sense of leisure and movement, making this a standout example of 1950s Swiss poster art.
