Original Danish safety and advertising poster from the late 1950s, issued by Ekstra Bladet in collaboration with road safety organizations and travel associations.
The poster promotes the campaign “Gå godt – vær præmie-fodgænger” (Walk safely – be a prize pedestrian), encouraging safe pedestrian behavior in traffic. As an incentive, participants could win prizes worth a total of 60,000 kroner, including two Vespa scooters, SAS flights to London and Paris, and 50 winter holidays in Norway.
The design features the popular Danish family characters “Far til fire” (Father of Four), well known from films, books, cartoons, and stage plays of the era. The image shows the father and his four children standing next to a pedestrian sign, smiling and ready to cross safely.
This poster reflects both the rise of traffic-safety awareness in the postwar years and the strong cultural presence of Far til fire in Danish society.
The poster is in good condition with some age wear.
