Norge Vinterfjellet

This original vintage Norway ski and travel poster from 1958 was issued by Norges Statsbaner (Norwegian State Railways / NSB) and features a color photograph by Norwegian photographer Jan Fredrik Sohlberg (1916-1979).

The bright winter scene shows two smiling female skiers in traditional Norwegian patterned sweaters, with another skier crossing the snow-covered mountain landscape behind them. Against the clear blue sky, the simple yellow NORGE lettering creates a clean and optimistic design typical of Norwegian tourism advertising of the 1950s. The image promotes Norway as a destination for skiing, winter sports and outdoor holidays, while the NSB imprint connects the campaign directly with rail travel within Norway.

A charming example of mid-century Norwegian travel advertising, combining color photography, Scandinavian winter fashion and the growing popularity of recreational skiing in post-war Norway.

In good condition with light overall age wear, minor creasing and small tears along the margins. Some light handling marks and slight discoloration are visible, but the image remains clean and attractive with good colors.
