This original vintage Denmark travel poster from 1948 promotes the country with the simple message "Denmark - Nature and Culture." The imaginative design transforms the dark, sweeping branches of a large tree into the profile of a reclining figure, creating a striking composition against the bright yellow sky and vivid green Danish countryside.

Beyond the trees, red deer (kronhjort) graze peacefully across the open parkland, while an elegant Danish country estate stands prominently in the distance. Together, the manor house, deer and cultivated landscape beautifully illustrate the poster's theme of Denmark as a destination combining nature, history and culture.

The poster is signed and dated 1948. The signature may possibly be that of Danish poster artist Laus Lauesen (1914-1966), who designed a number of travel posters for the National Travel Association of Denmark.

A wonderfully colorful and highly decorative example of post-war Danish tourism advertising, with a distinctly Scandinavian mid-century character. It would look great framed.

In good condition with some paper loss along the right margin, edge wear and tiny marginal tears.
