This is one of the first posters designed by Anders Beckman for AB Aerotransport (ABA), Sweden’s first airline company.
Anders Beckman was a multi-talented representative of the emerging Swedish advertising industry. He studied the years 1927-1930 at Högre Konstindustriella Avdelingen ved Tekniska skolan i Stockholm (the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design). In 1929 he got his first job at the company ABA where he designed a whole series of great airline posters. As a designer, he is famous for his characteristic posters for several well-known Swedish companies. Anders Beckman founded Beckmans college of design in 1939.
The poster depicts a airplane flying over the Stockholm skyline, including the Royal Castle and The City Hall.
The poster is in very good condition, but has some repairs and is mounted on linen. A very rare poster!
