Herbert Matter was a Swiss-born American photographer and graphic designer known for his pioneering use of photomontage in commercial art. The designer's innovative and experimental work helped shape the vocabulary of 20th-century graphic design.
Matter worked with a number of famous designers and artists during his career including Fernand Léger, Le Courbusier, Charles and Ray Eames, Derberny & Peignot, A.M. Cassandre and Alexey Brodovitch.
This cool Avant-Garde poster is part of the extraordinary series of Swiss travel posters he made between 1934-36 for the Swiss Tourist Board. Great iconic poster!
