Vicenza is a thriving and cosmopolitan city, with a rich history and culture. The town is home to twenty-three buildings designed by Palladio. This great poster by shows a rendering of the Basilica Palladiana with Clock Tower, a famous sight in Vicenza.
The poster is also texted with "Venezia" (Venice) at lower right. Vicenza is approximately 60 kilometers west of Venice.
Tullio Silvestri (1880-1963) was a painter and graphic designer originally from Friuli-Veneto. Well known on the art scene in Trieste since the twenties. He lived in Zoppola in the Province of Pordenone, where he stayed and worked for about thirty years.
