Ocean Liner |
This is a extremely rare Italian ocean poster from 1927 designed by Luigi Martinati. Martinati designed advertising, travel and even some propaganda posters in the 1920s, but is best known for his movie posters which he began to design, almost exclusively, after the Second World War.
Sitmar originally was an Italian shipping line founded by Russian émigré Alexandre Vlasov, however the company's headquarters were later transferred to Monaco
Text: "Some Delightful Mediterranean Cruises to warm and sunny lands by the fine Cruise Liner "Neptunia" - Sitmar Line"
There is a stamp on the back dating the poster to 1927. A German version of this poster has the year 1927 in the bottom text.
The poster has some wear, pin holes in the corners, folds and tiny paper loss. Would look great framed.
