Airline/Aviation Travel |
This original vintage poster promotes journeys over the Atlantic Ocean. A wonderful design by Ottomar Carl Joseph Anton, a German painter, graphic artist, and university professor.
The HAPAG company first became involved in the aviation industry in 1910, sponsoring Zeppelin flights. A zeppelin trip was the fastest and a very comfortable way to cross the Atlantic at the time.
The “Hindenburg” disaster in 1937 claimed the lives of 13 passengers and 22 crewmembers. Commercial travel in airships had no future after that.
A very rare poster.
