A wonderful original vintage South African travel poster promoting Mossel Bay, a harbor town on the Southern Cape of South Africa. The poster depicts happy people enjoying a sunny day at the sandy beach. A poster you don't see often. Very rare!
Text: "For safe bathing, excellent golf, unsurpassed fishing.
For particulars apply; Secretary, Mossel Bay Publicity Association.
Box 73 Mossel Bay"
Railways were first developed in the area surrounding Cape Town and later in Durban around the 1840s. The first line opened in Durban on 27 June 1850.
The poster is in fair condition. Several signs of wear. Fold marks, tears, scratches, missing comers. Mounted on linen. Would look great framed!
