This lovely original Greek travel poster issued in 1956 promotes traveling to Thessaloniki Greece depicting a 5th Century Mosaic in Church of St. George also known as Rotunda.
Built in 306 A.D. by the romans, Rotunda is one of the oldest religious sites of Thessaloniki. It was first a Roman mausoleum, then a Christian church, then a mosque. Its interior is decorated with Early Christian mosaics; outside is the city's only surviving minaret.
A lovely poster very good condition. Mounted on linen.
