A wonderful and rare original vintage travel poster designed by Albert Fuss and issued by the Hamburg-American Line (HAPAG) to promote Northern Cruises.
HAPAG started journeys to the Norway early in the 1900’s. After Dr. Wiester had participated on a voyage north in 1901, he wrote a letter of recommendation to the shipping company HAPAG: "The very special landscape of Lofoten, the wild nature of Spitsbergen, the glaciers extending all the way down to the sea and the incredible silence. All this must be seen, not read about. "
The poster depicts the Midnight Sun, Sami people, high glaciers and a HAPAG cruise ship anchored at sea.
In excellent condition. Mounted on linen.
