This a stunning original vintage poster issued by French railway PLM (Chemins de Fer Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée) to promote train journeys to Italian 1911 International Exposition in Rome.
The 1911 International Exposition of Art in Rome and illustrated how the patriotic celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Italian Sate utilized symbolic landscapes of architecture and archaeology to promote nationalist sentiments.
An enchanting rendering by Rochegrosse depicting two fashionable women in the saddle of decorated horses in front of a large crowd entering a medieval gate.
