Pan Am, also known as Pan American World Airways, was an American airline that was founded in 1927. The company was one of the largest international air carriers in the United States, and it played a major role in the development of commercial aviation in the 20th century. Pan Am was also a pioneer in international air travel, and it operated flights to destinations all over the world. The company was known for its distinctive blue globe logo and its iconic "Clipper" aircraft. Pan Am ceased operation in 1991.
