This is a wonderful original vintage travel poster promoting the Kreuzeckbahn, a cable car from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to the Kreuzeck 1651 meters above sea level.
The cable car first opened in 1926 and have had many upgrades over the years and in 2002 replaced by a detachable two- cable gondola. Kreuzeck is an alpine starting point to the Alpspitze and into the Höllental, but above all the "Classic" ski area with the Kandahar and Olympia ski runs.
Text at lower left: "Die Schwebefahrt zum herrlich gelegenen Ausgangspunkt für hochalpine Spaziergänge u. Wanderungen Umfassende Fernsicht Behagliche Unterkunft" - The hover ride to the wonderfully located starting point for high-alpine walks and hikes.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is an Alpine ski town in Bavaria, southern Germany famous for hosting the 1936 Winter Olympics, along with the International Alpine Skiing Championships.
