Description:

This is an authentic vintage travel poster extending a warm invitation to explore the beauty of Denmark. The poster features a vibrant and captivating illustration of the Rygaard Manor, resplendent in bright orange and red hues, set amidst its enchanting surroundings. Here, a serene pond graced by a white swan mirrors the azure skies with fluffy white clouds above, while lush green grass, bushes, and trees complete the picturesque scene.

The Rygaard Castle is situated in Langa parish, near Orbaek in southeast Funen, and its rich history dates back to 1372. The current castle, a magnificent structure, was erected in the early 1500s.

The poster's creator, Sven Henriksen, stands as a distinguished Danish poster artist from the Golden Age of Danish poster art. According to the book "Den danske plakat" by Lars Dybdahl this poster was crafted around 1924-1925.

Although the poster exhibits some signs of its age, such as edge wear, paper losses, tears, and creases, it remains a cherished relic of Danish history. Several small tears have been expertly mended with archival tape, preserving its enduring charm. A stamp by Danske Statsbaner at the upper right corner attests to its use over time.
