Presenting an endearing original vintage poster promoting Air India flights to Frankfurt, Germany.
This charming poster features Air India's mascot, the Maharajah, depicted as an accordion player dressed in Bavarian Lederhosen, joyfully participating in the "Octoberfest." Created in 1946 by Bobby Kooka, the then-commercial director of Air India, and artist Umesh Rao from J. Walter Thompson Limited, the Maharajah has become an iconic symbol for the airline.
The poster is in almost good condition, exhibiting small tears and minimal creasing at the edges. There is foxing at the top and bottom, primarily outside the image area. Despite these signs of age, the poster remains a delightful representation of Air India's playful and cultural promotion of flights to Frankfurt during its vintage era.
