This original vintage poster advertizes a KFUM (YMCA) national fundraising in 1945 - For youth within and outside Sweden's borders.
Text: Februari 1945 - KFUMs Landsinsamling 1945 - För ungdom inom och utom Sveriges gränser.
George Williams' idea spread quickly around the world and the first YMCA association in Sweden was started in 1884 in Stockholm.
The poster is designed by Swedish Martin Gavler who was an early graphic designer and a respected educator. Already in the 1930s he made skillfully stylized film posters and during the 40s he divided his time between freelance work as an advertising illustrator and teaching hours at Stockholm's polytechnics. He designed many projects for the Swedish Post including stamps.
The poster is in excellent condition. Just a tiny tear at top, Vivid fresh ink colors.
