This is an original and authentic Swiss travel poster from the 1920s, promoting the picturesque Oeschinen Lake in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. The lake, formed by a massive landslide, is fed by a network of mountain creeks and drains underground. Since 2007, Oeschinensee has been part of the expanded Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site.
According to the Swiss National Library, this poster was issued in 1923.
The text on the poster reads: "Lac d'Oeschinen près de Kandersteg route du Lotschberg. Les informations, brochures, prospectus, concernant Kandersteg et le chemin de fer des Alpes bernoises sont délivrés par tous les bureaux de renseignements." - "Lac d'Oeschinen near Kandersteg, on the Lotschberg route. Information, brochures, and prospectuses about Kandersteg and the Bernese Alps Railway are available from all information offices."
The poster is in very good condition, with only light signs of age wear.
