This charming original vintage travel poster was issued in 1961 to promote Norway as a summer travel destination. It features a beautifully composed color photograph by Mittet, capturing the traditional Setesdal Farmstead at Norsk Folkemuseum. In the scene, folklore dancers dressed in regional bunads perform outdoors in front of the historic log buildings, complete with distinctive sod roofs.
Norsk Folkemuseum—Norway’s largest museum of cultural history—presents how people lived across the country from the 1500s to the present day. Its open-air collection includes farmsteads and buildings from every region of Norway, with the Setesdal structures being among the most iconic and atmospheric.
