The Nelson Liner service from London was initiated in1910, and the full fleet of ten was running between the Albert Docks and Buenos Aires. Fitted with engines of 4,600 hp, and having an average speed of 13 - 14 knots per hour, they accomplish the 0,300 miles of journey between London and Buenos Aires in 21 days.

The designer of this poster, Odin Rosenvinge was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1880 of Danish descent. After leaving school, he joined a Leeds commercial art and printing firm where he started to paint marine subjects. When he was thirty-two, he moved to Liverpool and joined the firm of Turner and Dunett who had all the major shipping companies as clients. He later went freelance, becoming one of the most celebrated poster and postcard artists.

A fantastic poster that would look stunning hanging on the wall. Wow! Mounted on linen.
