Mount Pilatus is a large massif of rock in central Switzerland. it overlooks the city of Lucerne and offers an excellent view of Lake Lucerne.
When engineer Eduard Locher put forward the idea of building a railway up to Mount Pilatus in the 19th century, many people thought he was crazy. Nevertheless, the 4618-metre stretch of railway from Alpnachstad to the Pilatus Kulm was opened in 1889.
This poster is the Italian version. Text: Pilatus - Dominate Lucerna ed il suo lago.
