The vintage travel advertising poster is a genuine original that advertises the Alpine region of Valais, situated in the southern part of Switzerland, also known as Wallis Switzerland. The Valais (Wallis in German) is a canton in southern Switzerland, known for its pyramid-shaped Matterhorn mountain, upscale Alpine resorts, and vineyards located in the upper Rhône River Valley.
The poster features a color photograph of a traditional stone and wood farm house chalet adorned with red, pink, and white flowers on the balconies. The chalet is situated against the backdrop of a picturesque valley with cows grazing in the fields and pine trees in the forests on the sunny mountain slopes. The snowy peaks on the horizon and the blue sky above complete the scenic view. The stylized title text appears in yellow below the image.
The bottom text reads: Suisse Schweiz Switzerland Zwitserland Svizzera
The poster is in decent shape, but the act of removing the tape has resulted in some damage to the printed image. Specifically, there are small tears and paper loss on the margins, as well as damage to the corners of the poster.
