Sweden Ski poster

This original vintage Sweden ski and travel poster from 1946 was issued by the Swedish Tourist Traffic Association to promote Sweden as a winter holiday destination.

The cheerful photographic design shows a smiling young woman dressed in colorful period ski clothing, holding a pair of skis and ski poles against a snowy mountain landscape. Her bright red top, striped skirt and patterned headscarf give the poster a particularly attractive mid-1940s character. The large, simple SWEDEN lettering and uncluttered composition were clearly intended for an international audience.

A charming example of post-war Swedish tourism advertising, capturing the growing appeal of Sweden for skiing, winter sports and outdoor holidays.
