This is a stunning original vintage poster for the French magazine 'La Française, Journal de progrès féminin'. La Française, subtitled Journal of Women's Progress and created in 1906 dedicated to the women’s liberation movement.
La Française was founded by the French feminist Jane Misme (1865-1935), who asked the painter Alice Kaub-Casalonga to create an illustrated poster announcing the launch of the newspaper. Jane Misme was a member of the executive of the French Union for Women's Suffrage and the National Council of French Women.
A wonderful piece of the history of women liberation in France.
Some edge wear but otherwise in great condition. Mounted on linen.
