A festive original vintage poster issued by the 1955 Vevey Winegrowers Festival (Fête des Vignerons).
Since 1797 the Fête des Vignerons has been a traditional festival which takes place maximum five times in a century in Vevey, a festival featuring a show celebrating the world of winemaking. Since 2016, the Fête des Vignerons has been included in UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage.
The poster is designed by Viktor Rutz who studied in Zurich and began his career as a fashion illustrator. In 1948 he more or less retired from poster designing and moved to the Côte d’Azur, where he met Picasso. In 1956 he changed his name to Viktor Ruzo. The poster is signed Rutz so this must one of his last posters under that name.
The poster is mounted on linen. Several signs of age wear but would look nice framed. Ask for better photos.
