Railroad Travel |
This is a remarkable original vintage travel poster issued in 1913 to promote the Zahnradbahn Brunnen-Morschach. The Brunnen – Morschach Railway was a narrow-gauge mountain railway in Switzerland. From 1905 to 1969 the cog railway ran from Brunnen up to the village of Morschach and the Hotel Axenstein.
Morschach is a municipality in the district of Schwyz in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland. The municipality is situated on a moraine above Lake Lucerne and consists of the village of Morschach and includes the summer and winter sports center in Stoos.
The poster shows a lovely rendring by Gimmi depicting the village Morschach high above Lake Lucerne and near Brunnen.
At the bottom you see the 1913 timetable.
In good condition. Small tears, dirt, light discoloration and foxing. Mounted on linen.
