This is a wonderful original vintage Swedish travel poster issued to promote the Jämtland landscape in the middle of Sweden.
The poster depicts a colorful rendering by Kjell depicting attractions like Tännforsen Sweden's largest waterfall, the lovely Old Church in Åre, blooming fields and majestic mountains. In front "Jämtlandsälgen", the Jämtland Moose.
The moose is a well-known symbol for Jämtland. The moose made out of wood, known as Jämtälgen, came to being 1955 after the newspaper Östersunds-Posten announced a design competition to find a good souvenir for and from the county of Jämtland. Kalle Berglund won with his moose in pine.
Text at bottom in Swedish: "Mountains, waterfalls, forests and cultural heritage in the middle of Sweden"
