This is a wonderful original vintage travel poster promoting Zambia as a travel destination in the 1960's.
The territory of Zambia was known as Northern Rhodesia from 1911 to 1964. It was renamed Zambia in October 1964 on its independence from British rule. The name Zambia derives from the Zambezi River (Zambezi may mean "grand river").
The Zambia National Tourism Bureau was established in May, 1965 to market tourist attractions such as waterfalls, game parks and cultural ceremonies. One of the successful campaigns of the Bureau was the Zambia in the Sun campaign.
Rugged lower right margin. In excellent condition.
