Description:

This is a stunning original vintage travel poster promoting Victoria Falls Southern Rhodesia as a travel destination in 1941!

The poster depicts the 1934 erected David Livingstone’s statue in front of the Victoria Falls, the largest curtain of falling water in the world. On the statue Dr. Livingstone is described as “Missionary, Explorer, Liberator”.

Scottish missionary David Livingstone first heard about Victoria Falls, known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, four years before he arrived there on 17 November 1855.

Livingstone beautifully described what he saw in his diaries: "No one can imagine the beauty of the view from anything witnessed in England. It had never been seen before by European eyes; but scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight." Today you can join a helicopter ride over the falls called “The flights of Angels”.

The poster looks very good but have some sign of wear, dirt, and tape marks. Mounted on linen. An extremely rare poster to find!
