Vandersteng Onze Marine

This a lovely original vintage poster depicting the ship Vandersteng delivered in 1947 to Onze Marine.

General Dutch Committee "Onze Marine" was a private institution to promote better relations between people and naval forces, founded in 1921. The foundation was established to provide support to widows and orphans of seafarers who died and provided positive publicity for the Royal Netherlands Navy.

This Vandersteng was a vessel that should sail all over Holland to inform the Dutch population about the Royal Navy and the merchant marine. This ship served the foundation only a few years. Lack of funds and interest was the reason that the vessel had to be sold.
