This is an exquisite original vintage poster created to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the city of Elsinore in Denmark. Elsinore, known for its iconic Kronburg Castle, famously featured in Shakespeare's play Hamlet. To honor this historic milestone, the town organized Shakespearean performances within the castle.
The poster was designed by Andersen, a highly acclaimed Danish artist renowned for his illustrations in newspapers and books during the interwar period.
The poster is in excellent condition, with only slight staining at the edges, which does not detract from its overall beauty.
