Presenting an original vintage Danish travel poster from the 1920s that serves as a delightful promotion of Denmark as a travel destination, showcasing the picturesque Spøttrup Castle.
Situated in northwest Skive in Jutland, Denmark, Spøttrup Castle is a well-preserved medieval defensive fortress surrounded by an expansive moat, beautifully located by Spøttrup Lake. Throughout the years, its robust defenses have successfully protected against intrusion, and the castle has never been occupied.
Crafted by the esteemed Danish poster artist Sven Henriksen during the Golden Age of Danish poster art, this particular poster is estimated to have been created around 1924-1925, according to "Den danske plakat" by Lars Dybdahl.
A Danske Statsbaner stamp at the upper right corner provides a historical touch, attesting to its use over time. While professionally mounted on linen, the poster exhibits some signs of age, including edge wear, paper losses, tears, and creases. Nevertheless, it remains a cherished relic of Danish history, capturing the timeless allure of Spøttrup Castle.
