This authentic poster from 1933 was created to promote the "Nordisk kooperativ stämma" in Stockholm, Sweden, featuring the flags of the Nordic countries fluttering proudly.
The Nordic Cooperative Festival held in Stockholm in 1933 drew an impressive crowd of over 47,000 attendees. The event was filled with singing, drama, and a grand motor cavalcade through the city. It culminated in what was reported to be the largest firework display ever seen in the region.
The festival commenced with a reception at Stockholm's City Hall's Golden Hall, attended by ministers from the Nordic countries, government officials, city council members, and representatives from cooperatives across Sweden and neighboring countries. The evening featured festive performances at the Opera, graced by the presence of the king, members of the royal family, and distinguished guests.
Despite showing signs of age, including small edge tears, dirt, and pinholes, the poster remains in good condition, serving as a historical artifact of this remarkable event.
