This original vintage poster from 1944 promotes the "Vi Bo i Friluftstaden" exhibition in Malmö, Sweden, showcasing a design by the esteemed Anders Beckman.
Friluftstaden is a townhouse area that was built in the years 1942–1948 by master builder Eric Sigfrid Persson together with Erik Bülow-Hübe, among others.
The poster features modern housing architecture of the time, with three houses surrounded by green areas and Nordic flags waving on flagpoles outside. The illustration is ingeniously placed on a leaf of a blooming flower, symbolizing the blossoming of urban living.
Organized by "Svensk Form," formerly known as "Svenska Slöjdföreningen," the exhibition was part of the association's mission to promote Swedish design both domestically and internationally. Over the years, the Swedish Craft Association has curated numerous significant exhibitions across Sweden, including the Stockholm Exhibition in 1851 and 1930, as well as the Vi Bo i Ribershus exhibition in 1938.
In excellent condition, this rare poster is certain to captivate architectural enthusiasts and collectors alike.
