This is an original vintage travel poster from the first decade of the 1900s, designed by Charles Henri Quinton for the London & North Western Railway.
The artwork, titled "Lacs Anglais - Ullswater," promotes circular tours in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, targeting a French-speaking audience. The beautifully detailed lithograph depicts an idyllic lakeside picnic scene with elegantly dressed Victorian-era figures enjoying a meal in the lush countryside. In the background, sailboats glide across Ullswater Lake, while a horse-drawn carriage and cyclists travel along the scenic path, adding to the romantic and leisurely atmosphere of early 20th-century travel.
This poster has undergone minor restoration and has been professionally mounted on linen with an acid-free barrier for preservation. It is in very good condition. A rare and beautifully preserved example of early railway advertising art, it captures the elegance and charm of travel in the Edwardian era.
