This is a delightful and colorful original vintage travel poster created by famed Danish artist Otto Nielsen for Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) in the 1950s. It promotes Scotland as a destination, capturing the vibrant culture through an expressive depiction of a bagpiper in traditional Scottish dress, set against a lively pink and purple background. You can spot the artist's signature along with "Edinburgh" at the lower right.
Nielsen’s playful, painterly style became iconic for SAS campaigns from the late 1940s through the 1970s, helping define mid-century airline poster art.
This poster remains in excellent condition, with just light age wear and a few small pinholes in the corners — typical for authentic vintage pieces — and otherwise beautifully preserved.
