This is the official 1981 edition of the iconic Swissair poster, originally designed by Herbert Matter in 1935 to promote air travel to Switzerland. Reissued to celebrate the airline’s 50th anniversary, this version features the bold red text "Venez en Suisse par avion" ("Come to Switzerland by plane") against a striking alpine backdrop.

The composition showcases a dramatic photographic collage: a gleaming silver aircraft soars above the snowy peaks of the Swiss Alps, casting a shadow over the mountainous terrain below. At the foot of the image, a line of tiny mountaineers makes its way across a vast snowfield, emphasizing the grandeur and scale of the landscape.
