Spectacular original vintage travel poster promoting Victoria Falls, the great natural wonder of Africa and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Shown here in a dramatic Art Deco style, the immense curtain of water of the Zambezi River plunges into the gorge, its power and grandeur captured through bold color contrasts of white, grey, red, and blue.
The poster carries poetic slogans: “Watch the Earth Breathe” and “Listen to a Country’s Pulse”, underscoring both the awe-inspiring natural spectacle and the cultural identity of Rhodesia as a travel destination.
Known to local peoples as Mosi-oa-Tunya ("The Smoke that Thunders"), Victoria Falls was famously described by explorer David Livingstone as “so lovely they must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight.”
This example stands among the most beautiful African travel posters of its era, combining stunning visual impact with strong promotional appeal.
Condition: Excellent. Mounted on linen.
